Plans were developed during 2024 for an exhibition in Barry at Art Central, entitled Sculpture Cymru and Friends : A meeting of Minds. Members were invited to ask guest artists to show with them. Our plan was to make new contacts and encourage new affiliations. This exhibition ran from November the 2nd until January 11 2025. Dilys Jackson, Valerie Coffin-Price and Susan Roberts were instrumental in bringing this show to fruition.

A video was made of the exhibition by John Howes:
The exhibition was regarded as a great success – some 34 artists shared the exhibition space with artist Laura Ford, President of the Royal Society of Sculptors attending the exhibition for a closing event on the last Saturday of the show. Members enjoyed the diversity of the work on show and enjoyed deepening and making new friendships within and outwith the group. The show was thought to have been well received with many members of the public making more than one visit to the show. Geraint Edwards ran some lively workshops during the exhibition.

The exhibition was intended not only to broaden the profile of the group, but also to make more connections across Wales both with other sculptors and with the general public. It furthered the aims of the group to promote sculpture in Wales.
Each member and guest colleague had been invited to exhibit three or four works, either wall hung, free-standing or plinth-based.
Each pairing of sculptors’ works was accompanied by three short statements, one from the member about their work, one from their guest about their work and one from the member about the reason for their choice of guest.
Laura Ford, President of the Royal Society of Sculptors, spoke at the exhibition at its Closing Event on 11th January 2025.
The exhibition was curated by Valerie Coffin Price, Dilys Jackson and Sue Roberts.
It was supported by Tracey Harding, Gallery Manager and Vale of Glamorgan Arts Development Officer.
