NAME: Susan
Roberts
PROFILE:
I teach drawing at Llanover Hall, a Community Arts Centre in
Cardiff. I studied at the College of Art and Design, Glyntaf,
and at University of Wales Institute Cardiff completing my MA
in Fine Art in 2005. Sculpture has always been a part of my practise
using plaster, clay, plastic wire, stone, bronze, and most recently
iron. I am interested in notions of womanliness and where this
leads.
My work revolves around relationships, desires, and emotions,
exploring twists and movement, splits and openings all of which
affect our reading of form. It deals with ideas of beauty, which
magnetically draws in or repels the viewer through the encounter
with surface or tactility.
