NAME: Joolz Cave Berry
PROFILE:
Born 1961 in Rotherham Yorkshire, my family moved to Brighton when I was seven where I stayed until my early 20s where I spent some rather manic teenage years. I then moved about the country for a while and eventually settling down in North Wales for 20 odd years. Which is where I did my degrees in Wrexham college from 1997 alongside bring up my son Saxon, we both moved down south in 2002 whilst I was there I was involved with Dada South, a disability arts organisation which gave me the opportunities to help promote awareness of arts within the disability spectrum meeting lovely creative people exploreing my own creativity in new ways alongside other artists, but I was always longed to be back in Wales and when my son moved to to London for college, it gave me the opportunity to do so. I moved to Carmarthen to be with my partner in October of last year which has made me very happy as I feel so much more at home and myself in a rural environment and always have been, as a kid I would spend a lot of time out in the fields and woods with a pencil paints and and sketchpad it seemed to be the way I communicated the best, due to my dyslexia (a raffia kid ) the academic side of my school life was paints . I have always liked to test myself in various ways as a person and an artist, I enjoy dangerous sports and challenges, less of the dangerous sports now ! But definitely still up the challenges.
