MYRA RYAN
Myra's work explores themes relating to the human condition which affects a very personal response to make the invisible visible; to give visual presence to the unseen traces of people's lives; responding to issues which, for the most part, are hidden from view.

Materiality is at the heart of her practice. Familiar materials used in unexpected ways bring additional layers of meaning, allowing multiple interpretations. Materials are deliberately chosen that reference and exploit connotations embedded in our collective consciousness.

The interrogation of materials is explored using gestural, instinctive, repetitive actions with work moving between 3D and 2D, one informing and influencing the other. Drawings may be layered, manipulated and taken into space to create 3 dimensional structures.
